By this time we’re all pretty good at keeping up with the current safety standards for gathering. Remember your friends are the CDC and the local school guidelines. If you are staying in line with those authorities you are keeping due diligence and keeping the young people as safe as you can. Another good resource is the American Camping Association, especially as pertains to overnight events and retreats. Their standards will address the extended concerns involved as groups stay together over longer periods of time, including trips.
